News; Setting up a table specifically for drinks

Published: Friday 25 October, 2013

Creating a festive look around your home for a birthday party, holiday or any other occasion can be one way to let the environment encourage a sense of relaxation or excitement. Instead of setting out glasses and pitchers filled with one or two beverages at a dinner party, offer your guests options by setting up a table specifically for drinks. Hosting a dinner or cocktail party at home can be a stressful event and knowing how to properly plan a drink table. Drink table decorating doesn't have to be extravagant, but you will want to follow a few guidelines for dressing up the table so it is as decorated as the rest of the event.

Place your drink table in an area of a room that is easy to get to without taking up space for mingling. Cover the table with a tablecloth. Use a disposable tablecloth for easy cleanup of spills. Add a draping swag to the front of the drink table as suitable for your party's theme. Put drinks in bottles and cans in a large bucket with ice to keep them cold and for easy access. Consider putting a cocktail guide on the drink table to help guests mix their drinks. Place paper cups, cocktail napkins, stirrers, garnishes and paper straws on both ends of the kitchen counter so they will be easy to access no matter what position you are in when trying to get a drink. Make sure you have enough glasses and paper drinking straws for all of your guests. Add decorative accents to the table by displaying bouquets of balloons or paper flowers on either side of the table.

Drink parties are a great way to entertain your friends with a minimum of hassle. A drink table stocked with an array of different types of drinks and glassware gives your guests the option to create any type of drink they'd like.
