Typically, I hate paper straws. My previous experience at restaurants is that they quickly soften, bend, and fall apart and impart a paper taste to the beverage. Not so with these! I bought these for a tiki party and had many comments on how cool they looked. They are strong and held up perfectly in people's drinks (both alcoholic and non-alcoholic) for at least 2 hours without becoming soft. I will buy again.
